Earth Tremors in Sindagi: Five Quakes in a Single Day Spark Panic
Vijayapura (Sept 18): Residents of Sindagi town and nearby areas in Vijayapura district experienced five tremors in a single day on Thursday (September 18, 2025). The quakes were felt at 3:00 PM, 10:11 PM, 10:25 PM, 10:47 PM, and once again later at night, each accompanied by a loud rumbling sound that sent shockwaves of fear among the locals.
As the ground shook, frightened people rushed out of their homes. While the exact intensity of the tremors has not yet been confirmed, no reports of casualties or property damage have surfaced so far. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have urged residents to remain calm and stay in safe areas.

This is not the first time the region has faced such tremors. Over the past two years, Vijayapura district has witnessed a series of mild quakes that unsettled residents, prompting some families to temporarily move away. In 2023, minor tremors were also recorded in parts of the district, though they caused no major damage. The latest series of five tremors in just one day has once again created an atmosphere of fear in Sindagi and surrounding villages.
